Reducing the Scars

It is a well known fact that cystic acne is the harshest form of acne. This is because of the pus filled pustules that are formed on the skin. These swollen red colored pustules are extremely painful. The pimples which are formed on the skin make the skin feel itchy and cause irritation. Hence it is a common tendency among people to squeeze the pimples or even scratch or prick them. Many people even touch the swollen pustules to see how big it is! This is extremely dangerous, and the root cause of formation of scars on the skin. When the pimples dry up, they leave behind a mark on the skin either in form of a scar or a visible pit.

The extent to which the pimple was scratched determines the permanency or the darkness of the scar. In some cases, excess squeezing and pricking may cause bleeding from the swollen pustules. In such cases, it becomes almost certain, that the particular pimple is going to leave behind a dark scar, which will be almost impossible to remove without going under the knife. This is why all the skin care experts, and dermatologists, when consulted, first warn the patient against squeezing or even touching the pimples.

Even touching the pimples causes the infection to grow. The fingers contain germs and bacteria, which come into direct contact with the already infected area of the skin; this causes the infection to spread all over the surface to the skin.

Most of the light scars vanish with time, as the skin gets older and stretches. However, as mentioned earlier, if the scars are too dark or dense, then it is very difficult to get rid of them. Even application of bleaching creams or any other kind of scar removing cream would have no effect on such dark marks on the skin caused because of squeezing the pimples.
