Cystic Acne affecting Males and Females

Acne has now become a common problem with males and females. Although, acne is more common during teenage, it can occur at any age. Cystic Acne is mainly caused because of hormonal changes in the body. Women might suffer from cystic acne during their menstrual cycle or post pregnancy.
It has been emphasized by experts over the period, that the main cause of cystic acne at any age is hyper activity of the sebaceous glands of the body. The sebaceous glands secrete extra oil, which clogs the pores in the on the skin surface.

This oil then combines with external bacteria, to form an infection, which results in swollen pustules, or pimples, more popularly know as Acne. Cystic Acne is the most painful form of acne, and affects the deepest tissue of the skin. Getting rid of cystic acne is also tougher as compared to other forms of the infection.

The sebum and bacteria are combined in the clogged pores. This infection helps bacteria to reproduce and grow in various forms- thus leading to the growth in the problems, and spreading the infection to the skin which is still unaffected. Squeezing and scratching the pimples cause more problems and make the infection more difficult to heal.

Dermatologists and skin Care Experts advise that all kind of makeup should be taken off while applying any kind of external medication on the skin, like balms, lotions or creams. Contact lenses worn also should be removed to prevent the medicines from getting in contact with th lenses and damaging them. Makeup is an enemy to a skin suffering from cystic acne, and a dear friend to the infection! Applying makeup would highly aggravate the problem of cystic acne, and spread the infection to a large extent. This is why many beauticians also refuse to work on the faces of individuals suffering with any form of acne.
